I have found that once I create a large piece like #45 Guernica, it helps me to do a relatively simple piece in order to recoup my creative juices. Enjoy these.

#045a Guernica
This is the Left half of a 24" wide reproduction of Picasso's Guernica. Guernica is a small town in Spain that was made famous by Picasso's 22 foot wide mural that he painted for the 1937 World's Fair. Picasso painted this mural as an anti-war piece after he was disgusted to lean about the 1,600 civilians of Guernica who were gunned down by the German Luftwaffe.
#045b Guernica
This is the right side of #045 Guernica. I had originally sold this piece to Juan Tamez. After I did, I had seller's remorse and felt like I shouldn't have sold it. As luck would have it, Juan said his wife didn't appreciate it like he did, so we agreed that he should return it.
#045 Guernica
This image is special to me for two reasons. 1 It was the image Dr. Rackey had above his blackboard my senior year at St. Rita H.S. I got in trouble for staring at it too much. 2 I had a poster of it in my office when I worked for Valspar. One day, by boss, Roger White asked if I had drawn it. Then I said No, now I could say Yes.
#046 Patrick Seeberger in Chair
This is a pyrograph of my God son Patrick. Unfortunately, I discovered that when an image is too small, it is difficult to acheive an accurate likeness with a wood burner. On top of that, I made a mistake and burnt the right side of Patrick's nose. I had to give them the piece for 1/2 price so I actually lost $ on this one.
#047 Lorraine & George Seeberger
This piece was created for the mother of my good friend and ex-coworker at Valspar, Ron Seeberger. The source image was a wallet sized photo that was taken prior to the unfortunate passing of his father. I think my favorite portion of this one is the look I accomplished on George's jacket. I believe it looks better than the source image photo of his jacket. Why not compare it yourself on artburn.00page.com?
#048 Tumbling Men
This piece is a reproduction of a piece originally created by Luca Cambiaso circa 1590. I was very taken by the image when I saw it in a book on art. The first thing I thought of when I saw it was "Rock-em Sock-em Robots" Amazing for a 400 year old drawing. I have a similar shaped piece in my head, and will likely work on it sometime next year. A simple one like this took me only about 4 hours.
#049 Armando & Eva Tamez
This one doesn't deserve too much comment. I thought I did an awesome job on it, but whenever I see it, the only thing I can think about is the fact that Juan stiffed me on a good portion of the payment for it. I guess I will simply say it was by far my heaviest piece since I made it on Maple. Unfortunately, I spent a long time making it special for someone who deserves less than my best.
